“Ipaglalaban ko ang kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino sa abot ng aking makakaya” — Bong Go expresses gratitude for strong performance in latest senatorial surveys

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go has expressed profound gratitude to the Filipino people for their continued trust and support after being ranked among the top senatorial candidates in the latest Pulse Asia survey for the 2025 elections. According to the results released by Pulse Asia conducted from September 6 to 13, Go is in the 4th to 9th spot, with 40.3% of voters indicating him as one of their preferred senatorial choices. In response to these latest numbers, Go shared his appreciation for the trust placed in him, reiterating his commitment to continue serving the nation. “Sa ating mga kababayan, lubos po akong nagpapasalamat sa inyong tiwala at suporta. Ang inyong pagsuporta ay nagbibigay inspirasyon upang mas pagbutihin ko pa ang aking pagseserbisyo,” Go stated. He further emphasized that his public service would remain steadfast, especially in providing for the most vulnerable Filipinos. “Hinding-hindi ko po sasayangin ang pagkakataong magserbisyo sa bayan. Sisiguraduhin kong sa abot ng aking makakaya, patuloy kong ipaglalaban ang kapakanan ng bawat Pilipino,” he added. Go’s role as chairperson of the Senate Committees on Health, on Sports, and on Youth has solidified his reputation as a champion for the health and well-being of Filipinos. He is widely known for his key initiatives, including Republic Act No. 11463 or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019, which institutionalized the Malasakit Centers program. Go’s efforts in healthcare extends further with the development of Super Health Centers across the country. These centers are equipped to provide primary healthcare and early disease detection, crucial to ensuring the health and well-being of Filipinos in remote areas. Additionally, he is the principal sponsor and one of the authors of RA 11959, or the Regional Specialty Centers Act, which mandates the establishment of regional specialty centers within existing Department of Health regional hospitals. Go is also among the key authors and co-sponsors of RA 11589, or the Bureau of Fire Protection Modernization Act, and RA 11641, which led to the creation of the Department of Migrant Workers. Go is also a passionate advocate of grassroots sports development, recognizing its vital role in the youth’s personal growth and societal well-being. He played a key role in creating the National Academy of Sports (NAS) by authoring and co-sponsoring RA 11470. Located in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, NAS combines secondary education with a sports-focused curriculum, offering a dual path for student-athletes to excel in their sports and academic endeavors. Meanwhile, Go also reflected on the guiding principles passed on to him by former President Rodrigo Duterte. “Noong ako’y personal aide pa lamang ni Tatay Digong, lagi kong naririnig sa kanya: ‘Do what is right.’ At sa ngayon, iyon ang patuloy kong isinasabuhay. Ang kapakanan ng Pilipino ang laging inuuna,” Go emphasized. He assured the Filipino public of his unwavering commitment to continue serving, regardless of the challenges that may come. “Bilang inyong Mr. Malasakit, nais kong patuloy na magserbisyo, lalo na sa mga mahihirap. Bisyo ko po ang magserbisyo at naniniwala ako na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo sa Diyos,” Go added passionately. Aside from his high rank in the Pulse Asia survey, Go has consistently ranked well in other national surveys. Notably, the OCTA Research survey for the same election also placed Go in the top tier of preferred senatorial candidates. In the OCTA survey conducted from August 28 to September 2, Go ranked 3rd to 6th, securing 49% of voter preferences.
Bong Go provides wheelchairs to PWDs in Cagayan de Oro City, promoting sports and welfare of aspiring para-athletes

Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go’s Malasakit Team collaborated with the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) and the local government of Cagayan de Oro City to provide sports wheelchairs for the specially abled residents. Go, who is also the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Sports, has been a staunch advocate of the welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs) and Filipino para-athletes. Last August, Go facilitated the provision of substantial financial support with P500,000 each to Filipino para-athletes who participated in the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. The grant distribution took place in the Senate, where Filipino paralympians received financial support from the senator and the PSC. He also sponsored Senate Bill No. 2789. This bill seeks to amend Republic Act No. 10699, aiming to increase incentives for para-athletes to align them with the rewards given to their non-disabled counterparts who are considered elite athletes. “Hindi dahil mayroon silang kapansanan, ibig sabihin dapat kalahati nalang din po ang kanilang matatangap kung ikukumpara po sa ating mga ordinaryong atleta. Dapat po ay taasan ito. Hindi naman po nila kasalanan na ang iba sa kanila ay ipinanganak na merong kapansanan,” Go stated in a message. During the distribution event held at Cagayan de Oro City Hall on Wednesday, September 25, Go’s Malasakit Team, together with Councilor Girlie Balaba, facilitated the turnover of sports wheelchairs from the PSC to ten chosen beneficiaries. As the Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, Go also offered further assistance to those who may need medical assistance as he encouraged them to visit the Malasakit Center located in Northern Mindanao Medical Center or J.R. Borja General Hospital in the city. A one-stop shop, the Malasakit Center provides poor and indigent patients convenient access to medical assistance programs from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, the Department of Health (DOH), the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation. Go is the principal author and sponsor of the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019. Currently, there are already 166 Malasakit Centers operational nationwide, ready to assist with patients’ medical expenses. The Malasakit Center program has already provided aid to more or less 12 million Filipinos according to the data from DOH. “Ilapit natin ang serbisyo ng gobyerno sa ating mga kababayan na higit na nangangailangan. Patuloy kaming magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil bisyo ko ang magserbisyo at ako ay naniniwala na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo ‘yan sa Panginoon, serbisyo ‘yan kay Allah,” underscored Go. Go principally sponsored and is one of the authors of Senate Bill No. 2514, the proposed Philippine National Games (PNG) Act. The Bicameral Conference Committee Report of the bill was ratified by the Senate on September 23. It seeks to institutionalize a structured national sports program that not only promotes grassroots sports but also provides aspiring athletes the opportunity to compete in a national stage, including para-athletes. The senator also played a key role in creating the National Academy of Sports (NAS) by authoring and co-sponsoring Republic Act No. 11470. Located in New Clark City, Capas, Tarlac, NAS combines secondary education with a sports-focused curriculum, offering a dual path for student-athletes to excel in their sports and academic endeavors. As the sponsor of the sports budget in the Senate, Go has also continuously pushed for an increased budget for sports programs to significantly improve Filipino athletes’ preparation, training, and competitive performance on the international stage while launching effective programs to cultivate the talents of young and aspiring sports enthusiasts at the grassroots level. As Chairperson of the Senate Youth Committee, Go continues to urge government to prioritize sports engagement among citizens, not only for elite athletes but also for aspiring youth athletes, especially at the grassroots. “As I always remind our youth, get into sports, stay away from illegal drugs to keep us healthy and fit!” he said earlier.
Boosting inclusive economic recovery, Bong Go’s Malasakit Team visits Marilao, Bulacan to help struggling labor sectors

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, in collaboration with Vice Mayor Jun Bob dela Cruz, brought assistance to displaced workers in Marilao, Bulacan on Thursday, September 26. “Kailangan nating tulungan ang ating kapwa Pilipino na makabangon. Ang pagtulong sa mga displaced workers ay hindi lang nakakapagpabuti ng kanilang pamumuhay, kundi nakakatulong din sa ekonomiya ng ating komunidad,” said Go in a video message. Go highlighted the government’s essential role in providing support to those who are most vulnerable to economic downturns. He underscored the potential for programs like Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged / Displaced Workers (TUPAD) to bring about significant improvements to both individuals and the community’s overall economic resilience. The senator also reiterated his commitment to providing long-term solutions for economic empowerment. He introduced Senate Bill No. 420, which seeks to institutionalize the Rural Employment Assistance Program (REAP). REAP aims to provide temporary employment to qualified residents of rural areas, thus offering an avenue for displaced workers to achieve economic stability and contribute to the local economy. During the event held at the Marilao Atrium, Go’s Malasakit Team assisted a total of 53 displaced workers. Beneficiaries received snacks, vitamins, face masks, shirts, basketballs, and volleyballs. Additionally, select individuals received pairs of shoes. Representatives from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) also held an orientation for the TUPAD program to help beneficiaries understand how they can access temporary employment opportunities provided by the government. Continuously supported by Go, the TUPAD initiative has been instrumental in offering displaced workers short-term employment, helping them to cope with economic hardships while also benefiting local projects. In his message, Go thanked the local government of Marilao and DOLE for their partnership in bringing the assistance program to life. “Mga kababayan ko, nandito po ang aking Malasakit Team kasama ang DOLE para sa TUPAD. Patuloy lang akong magseserbisyo sa inyo dahil yan ang aking bisyo, ang magserbisyo,” shared Go. Senator Go concluded his message with a reminder of his dedication to public service: “Ang inyong Kuya Bong Go ay palaging naririto upang maglingkod sa inyo. Dahil bisyo ko na ang magserbisyo, at naniniwala ako na ang serbisyo sa tao ay serbisyo sa Diyos.” Known as Mr. Malasakit for his compassionate service to the Filipino people, particularly the marginalized, Go’s efforts in Marilao exemplify his commitment to empowering displaced workers not only through direct assistance but also by enabling economic growth and opportunities for communities in need.
Sen. Robin Resolution Condemns Killings of Teduray Tribe Members
Sen. Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla condemned the continued spate of killing of members of the Teduray tribe in the Bangsamoro Region, following the fatal shooting of Teduray leader and village councilman Elvin Moires last September 17. Padilla filed on Thursday Senate Resolution 1203, where he noted the number of killings in the Teduray tribe is “alarming,” with the latest count of fatalities having reached 75. “The rising number of killings within the Teduray tribe is alarming, with the latest count of defenseless individuals killed reaching seventy-five… It must be emphasized that injustice and violence do not have a place in any civilized society and no just cause justifies brutalities against the lives of all persons,” he said. Padilla, who chairs the Senate Committee on Cultural Communities and Muslim Affairs, noted Moires, who unidentified men shot dead while on his way home from a tribal wedding ceremony, earned a reputation as a vocal leader of the Lumads in South Upi who actively asserted the rights of indigenous people. Since 2018, he said the Teduray and Teduray-Lambingan leaders have become victims of threats and intimidation – and worse, killings – “for strongly advocating against land encroachment, and displacement or dispossession of their ancestral lands.” On Dec. 20, 2022, Jocelyn Palao, the progressive head of the ancestral domain division of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Ministry of Indigenous Peoples Affairs, was killed by gunmen after leaving her office in Cotabato City. Village councilman Juanito Promboy from Barangay Tuayan was ambushed by motorcycle-riding attackers while on his way to Barangay Limpongo last April. Last Aug. 2, South Upi Vice Mayor Roldan Benito and his security aide were killed by armed men with assault rifles while on their way to Barangay Pandan in South Upi. Padilla noted the Teduray tribe is one of the many recognized indigenous cultural communities in Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat and the Bangsamoro region. He added the killings occurred amid the Constitution’s provision that the State “recognizes and promotes the rights of indigenous cultural communities within the framework of national unity and development.”
Sen. Robin’s Resolution Salutes Crew of BRP Teresa Magbanua

For enduring harassment and hardships while maintaining the Philippines’ presence in the West Philippine Sea, the crew of the BRP Teresa Magbanua were saluted by Sen. Robinhood “Robin” C. Padilla. In Senate Resolution 1202, Padilla cited the BRP Teresa Magbanua’s crew for their “crucial and immeasurable contribution” to maintaining our sovereignty. “The crucial and immeasurable contribution of the officers and crew of the BRP Teresa Magbanua should be recognized and commended,” he said in his resolution, which was filed Tuesday evening. In April 2024, the Philippine Coast Guard deployed the BRP Teresa Magbanua (MRV09701) to monitor China’s reclamation activities in the West Philippine Sea, as well as maintain the Philippines’ presence there. Despite harassment and intimidation attempts by Chinese vessels – including an intentional ramming by a Chinese Coast Guard vessel – the BRP Teresa Magbanua did not leave the area. As part of its harassment efforts, the CCG even blocked rotation and reprovisioning missions, forcing the crew to settle for lugaw, boiled rainwater and droplets from the vessel’s airconditioning system. BRP Teresa Magbanua was forced to leave Escoda Shoal last Sept. 15 and return to Puerto Princesa Port due to weather conditions, depleted supplies and damage to the vessel – aside from the medical condition of some of its crew. “Resolved, as it is hereby resolved, that the Senate of the Philippines commends and lauds the brave men and women of the Philippine Coast Guard on board the BRP Teresa Magbanua for their dedication and commitment to protect the sovereign rights of the Philippines over the West Philippine Sea,” Padilla stressed.
Bong Go Scrutinizes DSWD’s Validation of Beneficiaries

Senator Christopher “Bong” Go raised concerns during the Senate Committee on Finance deliberations on the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) budget on Monday, September 16, about the accuracy and efficiency of the department’s efforts to validate beneficiaries of their social programs. As one of the Vice Chairs of the Senate Finance Committee, he questioned if intended beneficiaries of DSWD’s programs, especially the poor and the vulnerable, are given needed attention and immediate action by the department to help them overcome poverty, crises and economic challenges. Go made it clear that he remains a staunch supporter of the DSWD’s initiatives to uplift the marginalized sectors of society as long as such programs are implemented properly without politics and delays. “I want to express my support to the programs of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, which play a crucial role in uplifting the lives of the marginalized and vulnerable sectors in our society,” Go said, acknowledging the DSWD’s efforts under previous and current administrations. “Even during the time of former President (Rodrigo) Duterte, sinusuportahan talaga natin ito at lalo-lalo na nakatutulong sa mga mahirap nating kababayan na mga programa,” Go remarked in his opening statement. However, he pointed out that DSWD must ensure that these programs and assistance reach those who need government attention the most. One of the major points raised by Go during the hearing was regarding the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program. Go questioned the department on the proper utilization of the budget and remove any unnecessary hardships for individuals seeking aid. Go shifted the discussion to issues with cash availability, particularly in disaster-stricken areas, where the need for immediate assistance is critical. “Kumusta naman ‘yung cash ninyo ngayon? Parati natin narinig na walang cash dun sa mga lugar na… maraming regions doon na walang cash. ‘Yung may mga bagyo na regions, walang cash. Pero ‘yung mga walang bagyo, may cash,” he pointed out. In response, DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian explained that the lack of cash availability in certain areas was not due to a shortage of funds but rather the absence of Special Disbursing Officers (SDOs). He clarified that these officers, who are responsible for withdrawing and distributing cash, are limited by the department’s plantilla positions. This explanation, however, was met with skepticism by both Go and Marcos, with Marcos highlighting that despite the presence of manpower in NCR, there are still persistent complaints about delays in fund disbursement in the region. Gatchalian assured the committee that the department is working to address these issues and that funds will be made available in disaster-stricken areas. Another critical point Go raised was the follow-up on the validated list of beneficiaries from the previous year’s hearing, specifically those affected by the 2023 typhoons. Go expressed frustration at the delays in providing aid to these qualified individuals, stating that nearly a year had passed without a resolution. He recalled how Gatchalian had assured the Senate in September 2023 that payouts for qualified beneficiaries would be made promptly. Gatchalian acknowledged the delays but explained that the department had faced challenges in validating the lists provided by various LGUs. Go pressed Gatchalian on this issue, urging the department to ensure that assistance reaches qualified beneficiaries without further delay. “Basta qualified naman po. Kayo naman po nakakaalam. ‘Di naman tayo nakikialam d’yan sa listahan kung sinong pagbibigyan n’yo ng tulong. Basta qualified po, mga mahirap,” Go emphasized. Go further stressed that it is the DSWD’s responsibility to ensure that qualified individuals receive assistance they need to overcome challenges. “Ako, sinusuportahan ko talaga ‘yung programa ng DSWD ever since po at sa mga nakakatulong sa mga mahirap. Pero pakiusap lang, alamin po ninyo kung sino ‘yung mga mahirap, at huwag pahirapan. Sigurado po kayo na lahat ng nabibigyan ay mahihirap?” Go asked firmly. Go emphasized that he supports the DSWD’s programs, provided that they are executed properly and without political influence. He reiterated that the department’s primary mission is to assist poor Filipinos, and any delays in distributing aid could have severe consequences for those who direly need government assistance. “Mandato po ng DSWD na tulungan po ang mga mahirap nating kababayan. Unang-una, pera po ito ng taong bayan. Dapat po ibalik po ito sa kanila,” Go stated. Go also pointed out his efforts to institutionalize programs like AICS through legislation. He mentioned Senate Bill No. 2638, which he filed to ensure the proper and timely implementation of the AICS program by institutionalizing it if enacted into law. “Unahin po natin ‘yung mga mahirap nating kababayan. ‘Yan naman po ang ginagawa noon ng DSWD. Sana po panindigan niyo po ang inyong sinasabing ‘Bawat Buhay Mahalaga’ po sa DSWD,” Go appealed to Gatchalian and the DSWD team. Furthermore, Go also underscored the importance of ensuring that the department’s programs are free from political influence, urging the DSWD to stay true to its mandate of helping the marginalized and crisis-stricken communities. “Ibalik n’yo po sa kanila. At DSWD po ang may kakayahan na departamento na ibalik po sa kanila. At walang halong politika. Do not be selective,” Go firmly concluded, expressing his hope that the DSWD would continue its work to support Filipinos in need.
Former Anti-graft chief seeks regulated gaming BPOs to offset POGO revenues

The former chief of the Presidential Anti-Graft Commission (PAGC) said the government can offset the potential revenue losses from the operations of Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) by allowing gaming Business Process Outsourcing in export processing zones to enpolsure strict regulations. Atty. Nicasio Conti, former head of PAGC, now chief executive officer of Capstone-Intel Corp. lauded the decision of President Bongbong Marcos’ decision to ban POGO operations as it has led to serious crimes of trafficking, kidnapping, tax evasion and other national security concerns. “The ban on POGOs is a commendable step towards safeguarding our national interests and ensuring a more secure and regulated gaming industry,” said Conti. He added that, “the negative implications of POGOs on our economy and society have been evident, and this decisive action will help mitigate these risks.” Conti was reacting to the concerns raised by Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda on the potential revenue losses from POGO operations. He proposed a strategic shift towards allowing gaming BPO operations in Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA), the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) and the Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport (APECO). These government-attached agencies have separate mandates from PAGCOR. The former cabinet official explained that gaming BPO in export processing zones can be regulated since these areas are considered as “controlled environments.” “The transition to gaming BPOs within designated Economic Zones can offset the revenue loss from POGOs. These zones are equipped to handle such operations efficiently and with greater regulatory oversight,” Conti explained in a press release on Wednesday. Conti said PAGCOR must step up monitoring and regulations, should it decide to issue licenses and allow Philippine Inland Gaming Operators (PIGOs). Earlier, Conti calls for the strict prohibition of gambling advertisements across all platforms to mitigate the social impact of gambling within the country. “If PAGCOR continues to oversee PIGOs, there must be rigorous monitoring and enforcement of regulations to ensure compliance. Additionally, gambling advertisements should be strictly banned in all media to protect our citizens from the potential harms of gambling,” he said.
Mayor Alice Guo Denounces Allegations, Cites Lack of Substantial Evidence for Conspirator Label

Bamban, Tarlac — Mayor Alice Guo, facing allegations of Anti-Trafficking in Persons filed by Philippine National Police Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) and the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission(PAOCC) at the Department of Justice(DOJ) firmly asserts that mere connections to companies or individuals do not suffice as grounds for labeling someone a conspirator. The mayor emphasizes that such claims need to be backed by substantial evidence. “Having connections to companies or individuals, especially when vague, is not enough to link someone to a case, particularly one involving Human Trafficking,” Mayor Guo stated. She highlighted that she has no involvement or participation with Zunn Yuan Technology, Inc. or any other POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) in the country. Despite not having received a copy of the formal complaint yet, Mayor Guo remains confident that there is insufficient evidence to implicate her in the allegations. She voiced concerns that the allegations appear to have been prematurely publicized before any concrete evidence was presented. “Since the day of the raid on March 13 until now, there has been a concerted effort to unjustly link me to the case,” she said. “If concrete evidence existed, charges would have been filed against me much earlier.” Mayor Guo calls for a thorough investigation of cases before any public statements are made, upholding the legal principle that guilt must be established with clear evidence. “The principle of ‘innocent until proven guilty’ should prevail, and it is crucial to respect human rights and justice in all aspects of any case,” she added. Mayor Guo is prepared to address the allegations against her, standing firm in her commitment to uphold justice and transparency in the proceedings. Mayor Alice Guo Addresses Allegations and is Ready to face proceedings in a proper forum on Citizenship

Bamban, Tarlac – Mayor Alice Guo today issued a statement in response to recent allegations made by Senator Win Gatchalian regarding her citizenship. Recent documents provided by Sen. Gatchalian allegedly from the Board of Investments and the Bureau of Immigration suggest that Mayor Guo might be Guo Hua Ping, who entered the Philippines on January 12, 2003, at the age of 13, with a birth date of August 31, 1990. According to these documents, Guo Hua Ping’s registered mother under the Special Investor’s Resident Visa (SIRV) is Lin Wenyi. Mayor Guo is prepared to address these allegations fully and transparently. She even stressed the point that “he who alleges must prove! Kung sino ang nag-aakusa ay siya ang magpatunay.” Mayor Guo asserts her Filipino citizenship based on her birthright, cultural ties, and continuous residency in the Philippines. Her belief in her Filipino identity has been consistent, supported by her active participation in local business and community life as well as the people she interacts with. In fact, many community members are willing to execute affidavits and share historical documentation to further bolster her citizenhip. Legal defenses for her nationality include birthright citizenship having been born by a FILIPINO mother out of wedlock and the recognition of Filipino citizenship by Philippine authorities, including the issuance of a birth certificate and a Philippine passport, among others. Mayor Guo’s acquisition of personal and real properties in the Philippines was made in accordance with laws and procedures. She has complied with all the legal requirements, including the payment of taxes and fees. Philippine law protects such acquisitions, emphasizing the individual’s good faith and compliance with legal norms. As the current Mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, Mayor Guo acknowledges the paramount importance of her eligibility for office. She stands ready to present substantial evidence supporting her Filipino citizenship, including birth records and affidavits. Her lifelong actions and beliefs as a Filipino citizen affirm her rightful candidacy and tenure in office. It is important to note that China does not recognize dual citizenship. Furthermore, such allegation runs counter to the fact that she is required, and indeed secured, a Chinese visa as visitor of said country whenever she visits China. Mayor Guo remains steadfast in her position, supported by her legitimate belief in her Filipino nationality, her significant contributions to the community, and her adherence to legal requirements. Mayor Guo welcomes any challenges to her nationality status, property ownership, or eligibility for office in a proper forum with due consideration of her rights and the best interests of the Bamban community. Mayor Guo expresses her gratitude for the continued support of her constituents and reaffirms her dedication to serving Bamban with integrity and commitment. For Inquiries: please contact Atty.

“The suspension should be lifted on the ground that grave errors of facts or law or serious irregularities have been committed. The complaint have no basis either in fact and in law, based on mere surmises, speculations, opinions, and questionable findings without the required quantum of evidence,” ayon pa sa mosyon. “Here, there is no proof that respondent Guo was motivated by a premeditated, obstinate or deliberate intent of violating the law or any established rule,” ani David. Sinabi ni Atty David na umaasa silang agad na irerekonsidera ng Office of the Ombudsman ang kanilang inihaing mosyon “Mayor Guo most respectfully and humbly prays that the Order of Preventive Suspension be immediately lifted and that herein respondent should not be held liable for any administrative charges,” pagtatapos pa ni Atty David.
