The\u00a0Utah Frontier Observatory for Research in Geothermal Energy<\/a> (Utah FORGE) has published a fantastic virtual tour of its field laboratory facilities near Milford, Utah, as well as the Renewable Energy Corridor of the Milford Valley.<\/p>\n

The virtual tour provides an excellent overview of the history of the Utah FORGE project and the various wells used to test and monitor the performance of the EGS system. Photos, videos, and 360-degree views are offered for each of the points of interest in the virtual tour. Other facilities and sites of interest in the Milford Valley corridor are also included, such as the Blundell geothermal power plant, Roosevelt hot springs, and solar and wind power projects.<\/p>\n

The US DOE-funded Utah FORGE project is a dedicated underground field laboratory for developing, testing, and accelerating breakthroughs in Enhanced Geothermal Systems technologies to advance the uptake of geothermal resources around the world. The project has made great strides through the years, confirming connectivity within the EGS reservoir<\/a> in 2023 and reporting successful circulation tests earlier this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n
