{"id":19386,"date":"2024-06-21T03:10:03","date_gmt":"2024-06-21T03:10:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/energybuzz.ph\/staging\/6915\/japan-announces-subsidies-for-projects-to-promote-understanding-of-geothermal\/"},"modified":"2024-06-21T03:10:03","modified_gmt":"2024-06-21T03:10:03","slug":"japan-announces-subsidies-for-projects-to-promote-understanding-of-geothermal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energybuzz.ph\/staging\/6915\/japan-announces-subsidies-for-projects-to-promote-understanding-of-geothermal\/","title":{"rendered":"Japan announces subsidies for projects to promote understanding of geothermal"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Japan\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.meti.go.jp\/\">Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry<\/a> via the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.enecho.meti.go.jp\/\">Agency for Natural Resources and Energy<\/a>, Resources and Fuel Department, Policy Division have announced the recipient projects for the 2024 subsidy program for Geothermal Power Generation Promotion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb0\">The purpose of this subsidy is to promote understanding of geothermal resource development among local residents at geothermal resource development sites.\u00a0 The subsidy will cover the expenses required for projects that contribute to promoting understanding of geothermal resource development, which are carried out at sites where geothermal resource development is currently underway or where future geothermal resource development is planned.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb0\">Specifically, the subsidy covers:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"mb0\">study sessions and other projects, and<\/li>\n<li class=\"mb0\">\u00a0hot spring impact surveys, etc., to promote understanding of geothermal resource development among local residents at geothermal resource development sites.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Subsidies will be awarded to the following agencies for their corresponding projects:<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Hokkaido Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Information on geothermal will be gathered through study sessions and surveys of advanced cases in <strong>Rausu Town<\/strong>, Hokkaido. There will also be publicly run councils to provide relevant information and enhance understanding of geothermal to the residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><strong>Tohoku Bureau of Economy, Trade, and Industry<\/strong><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To promote understanding of geothermal in <strong>Mutsu City<\/strong>, Aomori Prefecture, there will be various events including the \u201cHuchitake Geothermal Roundtable,\u201d \u201cOpinion Exchange Meeting on the Survey of Geothermal Resource Development in the Mutsu City Hiuchitake Region,\u201d \u201cMutsu City Hiuchitake Surrounding Geothermal Development Study Group,\u201d as well as\u00a0 a \u201cGeothermal Advanced Site Tour.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cConsortium for Promoting the Multifaceted Use of Geothermal Energy\u201d geothermal power plants and inspects regional development projects that utilize the hot water, steam, and other energy sources supplied by geothermal<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thinkgeoenergy.com\/46-mw-wasabizawa-geothermal-plant-starts-operation-in-japan\/\"> in the <strong>Akita region<\/strong><\/a>. There will also be seminars aimed at a wide range of people and exhibits at the \u201cAkita Eco Festival,\u201d in order to promote understanding among the prefecture\u2019s residents regarding the utilization and development of geothermal resources.<\/li>\n<li>A hot water supply well will be drilled in <strong>Yuzawa City<\/strong>, Akita Prefecture to supply hot water for hot spring facilities near a geothermal resource development site. This will foster a sense of security in the local area, and promote understanding of geothermal resource development.<\/li>\n<li>The \u201cMt. Myoko Geothermal Liaison Meeting\u201d will be held in <strong>Myoko City<\/strong> to promote local understanding of geothermal.
