PT Dian Swaistika Sentosa Tbk<\/a> (DSSA), through subsidiary PT Daya Mas Geopatra Pangrango (DMGP), is expected to start the exploration drilling phase of the Cipanas geothermal site in West Java, Indonesia before the end of the year. The processes for environmental and business permitting are still ongoing, but infrastructure development should start by July 2024.<\/p>\n

The Cipanas Preliminary Survey and Exploration Assignment Area (WPSPE) was awarded to DMGP following a tender done in 2022<\/a>. The WPSPE assignment is valid for 5 years. After the exploration drilling stage, the area will be designated as a geothermal working area (WKP).<\/p>\n

The Cipanas WPSPE has a land area of 3180 hectares and has an indicated potential geothermal reservoir with a capacity of 85 MWe and planned development of 55 MWe. DMGP has already carried out detailed 3G surveys on the area which were completed before the end of 2023. The geothermal system in the Cipanas site has been associated with the nearby Gunung Gede-Pangrango stratovolcanoes.<\/p>\n

Agus Cahyono Adi, Head of the Bureau of Communications at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, said that the land acquisition for the project is targeted to be completed by June 2024, and that the start of infrastructure development is targeted by July 2024. \u201cThe licensing process has reached several stages. Including obtaining environmental approval and technical considerations from the Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park Office,\u201d<\/em> said Agus.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe exploration drilling plan is scheduled to be implemented at the end of 2024,\u201d<\/em> added Agus.<\/p>\n
