With the theme of “Accelerating Development of Geothermal Resources in Africa for Just Energy Transition, Carbon Markets and Net Zero Emissions,” this year’s ARGeo programme is focused on catalyzing investments in geothermal development in the African Rift region. As always, the aim of this biennial conference is to promote regional cooperation, create an information exchange platform on the exploration, development, investment, and utilization of the geothermal resources.

The Conference will consist of:

  • 21-22 October 2024: Four parallel short courses
  • 23-25 October 2024: Main conference
  • 26-27 October 2024: Field excursion

The conference provides the opportunity to create a platform to discuss how to fast-track the development of geothermal resources in the region both as primary energy resource and as part of the energy mix. Participants can expect to benefit by:

  • Gaining valuable knowledge and insight into new market developments and discover African case studies from both local and international speakers.
  • Saving months of due diligence by talking to hundreds of geothermal experts and solutions providers in just 3 days. Technical workshops and product demonstrations offer more information on products and solutions in the geothermal space.
  • Connecting, creating, and expanding your circle of influence and contacts through dynamic networking opportunities at various stages of the event.
  • Benefitting from ARGEO partnerships and strategic alliances that have been established through the years including African utilities, governments, IPPs, developers, contractors, solution providers.

The conference will also provide opportunities for exhibitors to showcase their projects, products, equipment and services. It will serve as an opportune time for business networking, sharing of experiences and knowledge with lead personalities and institutions in the geothermal sector from Africa and elsewhere in the world. It will also provide a platform for exhibitors to lay down strategies on how to harness Africa’s abundant geothermal resource, now estimated at 20,000MW.
